My symptoms first started in 1995. I’ve had every invasive investigation available done to get help.
Doctors have treated me by saying to me: “Nature is a wonderful thing and your body will heal itself.” But antibiotics stopped working and I became intolerant to them after taking them for so many years. I also developed gut issues.
I have felt hopeless about my UTIs as it is very difficult to advocate for yourself all the time, especially when it affects every aspect of your life and there is no support out there. It is also a very personal thing.
I wish there was a lot more awareness within the medical profession of how debilitating chronic UTIs are for the sufferer. More training is needed in medical school and health providers need to update the way UTIs are treated.
